Meet the Staff Of Fine Print Imaging
Founder and President of Fine Print Imaging
Fine Print grew out of a desire to find someone who understood the unique needs of nature photographers. As Fine Print founder Mark J. Lukes puts it, “I didn’t care about flesh tones or commercial images. I cared about how to make my nature photos look in print like they did when I photographed them in nature.”
Vice President of Fine Print Imaging
As a partner to Mark Lukes in life and in business, Linda’s role has evolved over the years and now includes fiscal oversight, strategic planning and all HR related concerns. She is well suited to the role having come from a management background in the human services arena.
Production Manager, Imaging Consultant, Photographer, Fire Chief, Haz-Mat Man and ANYTHING else that needs to be done……
And the list really does go on because Mike oversees the entire process of creating your reproductions, from the moment you call or email your order to the moment it goes out the door. He says that “he enjoys working behind the scenes – making sure things get done and get done on time – or sooner. The big challenge is trying to translate art (both photographic and painted) into a reproduction of the art.
Imaging Consultant, Photographer and Artist
While Greg is one of our newest employees (he’s been with us for about a year and a half), he comes with a mountain of photographic experience. Greg knew that his “experience as a professional photographer and former photo lab manager would be an asset to the Fine Print team.
Marketing, Customer Relations, Social Networking, Custom Framer and Artist Extraordinaire
“I guess you could call me an Artist’s artist,” says Kate Dardine, Fine Print’s Marketing Director. “I am always looking for ways to help Fine Print’s customer base of artists and photographers market their work. We have a saying here at Fine Print – if you are successful, we are successful.”
Digital Color Specialist, Artist and Master Wood Craftsman
Jerry started work at Fine Print in January, 1999, bringing to Fine print his knowledge of Iris giclée printing, Photoshop expertise, and experience in working with artist and photographers transitioning to digital technology.
Digital Color Specialist and Photographer
Photographer, husband, Dad, hockey player, outdoorsman, versatile, serious, funny, dependable, capable. Man of few words …. most of the time. Man of tremendous skill …. all of the time.
Digital Color Specialist and Artist
Patricia started working with Fine Print on April 15th, 1991, one week before she was to get married. And thus began the tradition of newly hired Fine Print employees leaving for honeymoons immediately after starting their employment with us. Fortunately, Patricia came back after the wedding and has been an indispensable member of our printing team ever since.
Art Copy Technician, Finisher, Image Archivist and Artist
Mary started working at Fine Print by a serendipitous chain of events in January of 1992. She was hired as a finisher. “My background in painting was good training for the many hours I spent spotting prints, now a thing of the past. It was always fun to match colors and make the “spot” disappear. Since there were many copies of the same image, with the same “spot”, one had a good chance at achieving perfection, which was always our goal.”
Finishing Specialist and Photographer
Tonya is a Finishing Specialist approaching 10 years with Fine Print. When you receive an order, it is possible that somewhere in the process, Tonya may have caught, trimmed, deckled, tissued, dye-spotted, wrapped, or shipped it. And when you receive an order from Tonya, you’ll know it’s done right!

Bookkeeper and Financial Wizard
Fine Print Imaging welcomed Ava Spain to our team in December. Ava serves as the voice of Fine Print and our bookkeeper. When you call to place an order or with questions, it is most likely Ava’s friendly voice you will hear on the other end – and she is the one you want to speak with if you have billing questions.
Ava was born in Whittier, California, and grew up on a 40 acre ranch in the foothills of Fresno. As a young girl, Ava spent her time outdoors on the ranch, “falling off horses and donkeys, climbing trees, and exploring.” When it was time for college, Ava chose California State University, Fresno, where she earned a degree in Ag/Science.
She had a hard time envisioning herself telling farmers what pesticides to use, so after graduation she took a job at a Produce company where one of her duties was bookkeeping. And she discovered she not only had an affinity for numbers, she liked the detective aspect of balancing the books. She met her future husband on the job and after they were married, they moved to Dallas, Texas for eight years and started their family. In 2010 Ava’s husband got a job working for a large organic farm in northern Colorado and they have been here ever since. Two years ago he started his own agricultural company, Northern Colorado Growers, Inc., which represents local produce growers by "bridging the gap" between producer and consumer.
Ava has two sons in Middle School, and was working as a part time bookkeeper when she saw our ad for an experienced bookkeeper late last Fall. Since she has been with us, Ava has managed to get us right-brained free-form thinkers organized and on track with our books – and she does it with humor, grace and warmth. We could not have created a more perfect person for the position if we tried!
Although not an artist herself, Ava has a great appreciation for art and enjoys seeing all the great imagery that we have the honor of printing.
When she’s not hunting down invoices or following paper trails (where DID Mark put that receipt?) Ava enjoys spending time with her family, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, reading mysteries and romance novels , and the company of her aging Golden Retriever, Lola.
