  • What is Fine Print Express ROES?
    ROES stands for Remote Order Entry System. You install our free ROES software once on your computer and place all of your orders from your own desktop. No need to first upload photos online before placing an order.

With Fine Print Express ROES, everything up to placing the order is done on your desktop. No need to upload images prior to ordering. Ordering is done through one easy to use, intuitive screen. Product, size and pricing information is broken down by products, making it easy to find what you want. And product proportions are show for each size. Cropping is simple and very visual. You can quickly see what you are omitting and what you’ll get in the print. And our gallery wrap visual cropping screen gives you a no questions asked view of how the finished product will look.

  • What's the difference between prints made through Fine Print Express and prints made through Fine Print Imaging?
    Actually, not as much difference as you might think. You get the same professional quality prints with both services. Fine Print Imaging offers a larger variety of print sizes and other services such as scanning and art copy. Fine Print Express offers you lower prices and faster turnaround. What it really all boils down to is how your images are prepared for printing. With Fine Print Imaging, you can rely on our expert technicians to take care of all that for you. Fine Print Express allows you complete control of the image preparation and uploading process.

    Photo prints and fine art paper giclées will be shipped within three (3) business days.
    Canvas gallery wrapped giclées will be shipped within five (5) business days.

    • USPS - 11x14 and smaller prints shipped flat for $6.00
    • USPS - Larger than 11x14 prints shipped in a tube for $9.00
    • FedEx Ground - Shipped in a tube or flat - rates and delivery times vary
    • FedEx Saver - Shipped in a tube or flat - usually 2 - 3 days in US - rates vary
    • FedEx 2 Day - Shipped in a tube or flat - 2 days in US - rates vary

How do I get started with Fine Print Express using ROES?

If you do not have Java installed the first time you use ROES, it will attempt to download and install Java from Sun Microsystems.

Mac:
Mac OS 10.4 or Higher; Mac OS 10.5+ with Java 6 recommended

Fine Print Express ROES… Placing Your First Order

Whether you are new to Fine Print Express, ROES, or both, we highly recommend reviewing the following steps to help you get up and running.

  • Click on the Order Now or Download ROES Software button. If you don't have Java installed, you will be prompted to download a small Java file to your computer.  Answer all the appropriate questions to install JAVA.  * Mac Users: We recommend using ROES with OSX 10.4 or higher.  Java is included in the OS X software and will not be downloaded with the ROES application. To ensure that you have the latest Java release available for your version of OS X, click on the Apple Menu and select "Software Update..."
  • When Java installation is complete, the ROES Client application will be launched using Java Web Start. Since this is the first time you have launched the ROES Client application, it will need to download the software.  The ROES Client application is fairly small and should download quickly to your machine.
  • From this point on, you can simply double click on a shortcut to launch the Fine Print Express ROES online ordering system. This link will automatically show up on your desktop after you install the downloaded software. You do not need to go back to the Fine Print Express website unless you need product or pricing information.
  • Entering Your Customer Information - Once you have successfully launched ROES for the first time, you will see a dialog box prompting you to enter your Customer Information. The "Tax Exempt" button applies only to customers who have a valid resale license from their state. It is very important that you do not use special characters when filling out the Customer Information form in ROES. Special characters include the following: ~ ` ^ : & * ( ) | ' " , ? © [ ] < >

How do I place an order through Fine Print Express using ROES?

That’s actually the easy part! Most customers feel that our ROES ordering system is not only easier to use, but it’s more flexible AND more powerful. Make sure that you already did your one-time install of ROES software to your computer.

Open your Fine Print Express software from your Computer Desktop. Once the software opens, you’ll see a “Tip of the Day” page with our current special. Click OK at the bottom of the page.   1. Click on the Folder icon in the lower right corner of the page. Select the folder that contains the images you wish to print. * Important* Save your files as level 12 jpegs. Our ROES order platform does not accept tiffs. *Hint – Place all of the images you wish to order in one folder prior to getting started. This speeds up the process of bringing images up in the Image Folder.
  2. Double click or drag the image you wish to print into the box in the center of the screen. Here you can
  • Zoom in or out
  • Crop the image and see instantly the effects of your cropping
  • Rotate the image
  • If ordering Canvas Gallery Wraps, you can see the area that will be wrapped. If too much of the image area is being lost in the wrap, you can select to have a black border instead.
  • If ordering Fine Art Paper, you will see the ½ inch border proportionate to the print size. The border is not included in the print size. (E.g., an 8x10 print will have an image size of 8x10  with a ½” border added on all four sides.)
  1. Select the product and size you want to order. You have a number of options for products.

Quick Tips that will make ordering through Fine Print Express ROES easier.

  1. Before you bring images into Fine Print ROES, we suggest that you create a folder with the images you plan to order from. This speeds up the process of bringing images up in the Image Folder. * Important* Save your files as level 12 jpegs. Our ROES order platform does not accept tiffs.
  2. To view all of the information on about your order as you are creating your order, click "View your shopping cart" and then click "View order report". You may get an "ActiveX control" message at the top of your screen. Click the message and indicate that you wish to "Allow Blocked Content". Simply close the order report window to proceed with your order.
  3. Want to save an order and submit it at a later time or date? After you hit the Check Out button, check the "Save for sending later via the internet" button. This puts your order in a Queue where you will able to view it and submit it later.
  4. When selecting a shipping method, the actual shipping price shows up in the "View Order Report" window. The correct shipping charge will also show up in the final checkout process. The least expensive way to ship is via USPS Priority mail.
  5. All orders are paid for by credit card. You can cancel an order prior to checking out, even after entering your credit card info. You can choose whether or not to have our ordering system save your credit card info.
  6. If you have a promotional code, enter it in the "View Shopping Cart" window. While the amount of the discount offered in the promotion won't be displayed, the amount of the promotion will be reflected in your final purchase price.
