Sending Your Digital Files - FTP Instructions
You can always send files the old old-fashioned way - on a CD or DVD sent through the mail. But there’s a better, faster and free way - through Fine Print Imaging's FTP (File Transfer Protocol) service. Sending us your files has never been easier - and more secure! Before you upload your files, however, make sure you’ve prepared your files properly. See "Preparing Your Files" in the Canvas, Fine Art or Photo Print sections. If this is your first order with us, you might want to talk to one of our customer service reps before you get going.
If you've been here before and are ready to send your images right now, go to the bottom of this page and begin uploading.
If preparing your files sounds like a foreign language, you can still use our FTP service.
... Just send us the file(s) you have and let us know what you would like us to do with them.
... Provide any other helpful info, like “the sky is a deep blue; the foreground is fairly dark but still has green in it; the mountains have a bit of a purple haze…”
... We'll take a look at the file(s). If the files need adjusting, we'll make the necessary adjustments. If there is a charge for making these adjustments, we will contact you first. We strongly encourage you to ask for an approval print prior to printing your final order.
Key Elements in Preparing your files for printing
Preparing Files for Lumira Digital Photo Prints
1. Set your “Document” width and height to your desired output size - at 300ppi.
2. Do not apply any printer profiles. We’ll take care of that.
3. Save files as tiffs, layers flattened.
Preparing Files for Canvas or Fine Art Paper Giclée Prints
1. Set your “Document” width and height to your desired output size - at 300ppi.
2. Convert to Adobe RGB (1998) working space.
3. Save files as tiffs, layers flattened.
Before you send your files!
Once you have prepared your files, fill out our Easy Order Form.to place your order. Once you've placed your order, Go to our FTP File Uploader below. Click Here to go to our Easy Order Form.
After you send your files!
You will receive an email telling you that we have received your files. It may take our staff some time after you have sent your file before we get a chance to open it and assess its printability. Make sure that you first send an Easy Order Form with printing directions BEFORE uploading your files (see above).
Here is our easy to use file Uploader.
You may upload up to five (5) files at a time. Put your name/business name in the Subject field. Space is limited in the Message field. That’s why we ask you to use the Easy Order Form. Add all (up to 5) of your files before hitting “Send It”.
