Patricia James – digital colour technician
Patricia started working with Fine Print on April 15th, 1991, one week before she was to get married. And thus began the tradition of newly hired Fine Print employees leaving for honeymoons immediately after starting their employment with us. Fortunately, Patricia came back after the wedding and has been an indispensible member of our printing team ever since.
Patricia began her employment as a traditional color printer but, ever adaptable and willing to take on new responsibilities, she embraced the digital transition, learning the new technologies while still working daily with the traditional, analog equipment. Patricia successfully negotiated the transition and now excels at the techniques she uses in her work as a digital color technician.
Indicative of her “can do” attitude, Patricia says “The work here is challenging to me because I strive to give the customer the best possible result whether from their artwork, a digital file or scanned film. I find that challenge exciting.”
With a BFA in painting and photography from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Patricia has an impeccable eye for both color and composition as well as an artist’s sensibility for what makes an image extraordinary.
Beyond Fine Print, Patricia leads an active life, filled with multiple interests and passions: family, the fiber arts (knitting crocheting and spinning), making soap and body products, gardening, movies, music, books, cooking, nutrition, working out, good art museums and great art are just a few of her favorite things.
