Artwork Guidelines

Print-ready artwork prints exactly as you expect, first time. This page covers what to send: accepted file types, bleed and safe area, resolution, color mode, fonts, finish layers and dielines.

Accepted files

Boxes: PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, PNG, JPG, SVG or ZIP. Tags: PDF, AI, EPS, JPG, PNG or ZIP. Up to 25 MB per file. A print-ready PDF with fonts embedded is the most reliable.

Checklist

  • Bleed: extend backgrounds about 0.12 in (3 mm) past the cut line
  • Safe area: keep text and logos about 0.12 in (3 mm) inside the cut and folds
  • Resolution: images at 300 dpi at final size
  • Color: CMYK, with any Pantone colors as named spot swatches
  • Fonts: embedded or converted to outlines
  • Finishes: foil, spot UV and embossing as separate solid layers
  • Holes and windows: keep text clear of them

Dielines and templates

Request the dieline for your exact box size and style, or a layout for your tag format, before starting artwork. We supply it with your quote; downloadable template libraries are being prepared.

Questions about artwork guidelines

What is bleed?

Extra artwork past the cut line so no white edge shows after trimming.

What resolution should images be?

300 dpi at the size they'll print.

Can I send RGB files?

Convert to CMYK first; RGB colors can shift.

How do I mark foil or spot UV?

As separate solid layers named for the finish.

Can you set up my artwork?

Yes. We check every file before printing, and we'll set up your supplied logo and text on the dieline or tag template free once your order is placed.
