Custom Hang Tags

Custom hang tags, also called swing tags, are printed card labels that hang from a product by a string, loop or eyelet and carry your brand, price, size or care details. Choose one of nine ready formats below for a fixed online price, or build a tag to any size and finish.

Which hang tag format should I choose?

Choose the format by how much your tag has to say. A standard or clothing tag holds a logo plus a short line; a folded tag holds care instructions, sizing and a short brand story without crowding; a circle or shield tag works when the logo does the talking.

Then consider where the tag hangs. Small products such as jewelry or candles need a mini folded or circle tag that doesn't hide the item. Furniture and luggage need a larger, heavier tag that survives handling in a showroom or at a baggage carousel.

  • Mostly logo: circle, shield or custom shaped
  • Logo plus price or size: standard or clothing
  • Care, materials or a brand story: folded
  • Very small products: mini folded
  • Large or heavily handled products: furniture or luggage

Card weight and finish

Card weight changes how a tag feels more than any other choice. 350 gsm (about 16 pt) is a sturdy everyday tag; 600–700 gsm (about 26–30 pt) feels noticeably premium; laminated board from 900 to 1200 gsm (about 38–50 pt) is rigid enough to stand on its own. Folded formats stay between 250 and 420 gsm so the fold is crisp.

Finishes then add contrast: matte or gloss lamination protects the print, hot foil adds metallic detail, and embossing or debossing adds texture you can feel.

How hang tags attach

Every format can have a 3 mm punched hole, or a 5 mm hole when a metal eyelet is fitted. Pre-strung tags arrive with black or white lock strings, black or white elastic loops, or rope string already attached, so they are ready to put on products.

Questions about custom hang tags

What is the difference between a hang tag and a swing tag?

None. Hang tag is the common US term and swing tag the common UK term; both mean a printed card label attached to a product by a string, loop or fastener.

What size is a standard hang tag?

The most common size is 3.35 × 2.17 in (85 × 55 mm), the size of a business card. Clothing tags are often slimmer, such as 1.97 × 3.54 in (50 × 90 mm).

Can I order a tag in a size that isn't listed?

Yes. The custom tag builder accepts any whole size from 25 to 150 mm (about 1 to 6 in) in each direction, and larger tags can be quoted.

What is the minimum order for hang tags?

The minimum order is 1 tag. Online quantity tiers run from 1 to 5,000 tags, and larger runs are quoted.

How long do custom hang tags take?

Production takes 1–3 business days after you approve the proof, plus 3–6 business days of transit to the US.

Can tags arrive with strings already attached?

Yes. Choose lock string, elastic loop or rope string in the configurator and tags arrive pre-strung.
