Printed Luggage Tags

Printed luggage tags are large card tags, 2.36 × 4.33 in (60 × 110 mm), with the classic angled top corners and room to write a name and address. Brands use them on bags and travel goods, and as gift tags, favors and parcel labels.

Printed brand, written details

Most luggage tags combine a printed design with lines to fill in. Print your brand and a heading on the front, and write-on lines for name, phone and address on the back. Uncoated or kraft card takes pen and pencil best; coated card needs a permanent marker.

Making a card tag last

Card luggage tags are made for branding and gifting rather than years on a suitcase. To make them sturdier, choose heavy board from 600 to 1200 gsm, add a metal eyelet so the string can't tear through, and add lamination on the printed side.

    More than luggage

The luggage outline is popular well beyond travel: as a gift tag on hampers and bottles, a place card or favor tag at weddings, and a handwritten address label on parcels and tote bags.

    Questions about printed luggage tags

What size are your luggage tags?

    2.36 × 4.33 in (60 × 110 mm), with angled top corners.

Can people write on the tags?

Yes. Uncoated or kraft card takes pen and pencil; coated card needs a permanent marker.

    Are card luggage tags waterproof?

No, card tags aren't waterproof. Lamination helps resist splashes. For tags that stay wet, choose waterproof synthetic stock instead of card.

    Which attachment works best?

Rope string or a lock string through a metal eyelet, which stops the hole tearing.

Can I use luggage tags as wedding favors?

Yes. Print names and a date on the front and leave space for a handwritten message.
