Custom Shipping Boxes

Custom shipping boxes are corrugated cartons with top and bottom flaps that are sealed with tape, built first for protection. Choose them for heavier, bulky or multi-item orders where a mailer's fold-in lid isn't needed.

Shipping box or mailer box?

Choose a shipping box when protection and capacity matter more than presentation. Flaps that meet across the top close larger volumes efficiently, the box takes heavier contents, and it packs quickly on a busy fulfilment line. Choose a mailer when the box itself is part of the experience.

Where to print on a shipping box

Put the logo on the side panels, not just the top: tape runs across the top seam and the carrier label usually covers part of the top panel. A one- or two-color logo on kraft is the most economical; full color on a white liner turns the box into advertising on every doorstep.

    Strength and board

Corrugated strength comes from the flute size and the number of walls. Single-wall board suits most parcels; heavier goods need thicker flutes or double-wall board. Board grades and load ratings for this range are 32 ECT and 44 ECT single-wall for everyday parcels, and 48–61 ECT double-wall for heavy or fragile goods; tell us the product weight in the quote form and the board will be matched to it.

      Sizes customers order most

Every shipping box is made to your size, so there's no stock list to choose from. These are sizes customers often settle on; use them as a starting point, then measure your product. Size-range pages explain what changes as boxes get smaller, larger, longer or taller.

      Popular shipping box sizes
      Inside size (L × W × D, in)Typical contents
      6 × 6 × 6Mugs, candles, small gift sets
      8 × 8 × 8Subscription orders, small appliances
      10 × 8 × 6Shoes, cosmetics sets, books
      12 × 9 × 3Apparel, flat gifts, documents
      12 × 12 × 12Multi-item orders, home goods
      14 × 10 × 4Folded clothing, flat-packed items
      16 × 12 × 8Kitchenware, bundled orders
      20 × 20 × 20Bulky soft goods, cushions

        White or kraft outer liner

Shipping boxes come with a brown kraft or a white outer liner. White makes full-color print brighter and looks clean on a doorstep; kraft costs less and suits one- or two-color logos. The board inside is the same, so strength doesn't change.

          Questions about custom shipping boxes

How much weight can a custom shipping box hold?

It depends on the board. As a guide, E-flute suits contents up to about 4.4 lb (2 kg); above that, or for fragile goods, B-flute or double-wall is recommended. Enter your product weight in the quote form for a recommendation.

          Do shipping boxes need tape?

Yes. The flaps are sealed with packing tape or gummed paper tape top and bottom.

Can I print on all sides?

Yes. Printing can cover every outside panel, and the inside can be printed too.

          Are shipping boxes delivered flat?

Yes. They arrive flat and are folded and taped at packing.

          What sizes can I order?

Any internal length, width and depth. Enter the size in inches, millimeters or centimeters in the quote form.
